Hello all, we are heading to Madrid today after staying in a very bustling city. We spent the day yesterday out and about. First going to a catholic mass in Giralda Cathedral (which has the largest altar in the world!) and then walking around Real Alcazar and the Jardines del Alcazar. Alcazar was huge and full of beautiful tile work and fountains everywhere. Our hostel (Oasis) has been really fun and we´ve met lots of cool people. Last night we all went to see some more free flamenco... the main guitarist was INCREDIBLE and quite nimble with his fingers. The male vocalist was, as is typical in Flamenco, singing in a throaty, tortured manner, and had quite the facials. Very intense sad faces, with one side of his lip pulled down and sneaky smiles during his quick breaths. The dancer was intimidatingly "in the zone" and looked like she was in a terrible mood. During the second half, she smiled for the first time, and we were able to tell that she was just in performance mode. Only then did we blink and take a sip of our tinto de veranos (Ah-mazing wine/lemonade drink).
